Baby Shower

Here are a few photos from the baby shower I helped with recently.  I really didn't do much to help, just went over the day of the shower and helped set up for it.  I took a few pics that evening but with my camera issues I just couldn't get very many good ones.
Buffet table.  The food was so pretty and so yummy.

Love the grass.  I really want to plant some wheat grass myself.
Maybe I can talk my brother-in-law into letting me have some to take home with me!!

Vignette in my friends kitchen.  So cute, I love it.

Globe on the center of the table.  The paper chain is made from old maps.
I really like the map theme for a boy baby shower.
This baby's parents moved here from Africa!  He is the most adorable little thing I've ever seen!
It was fun to be at a baby shower again.  I have been very bad about attending them the past several years.  It was just so hard to make myself get out in the evening, especially if I had to take my 3 kiddos with me, without Daddy.  The girls are old enough now it's not really a big deal.  And a 'girl's night out' is very fun now and then :)

Retail Therapy

Retail Therapy.  It's what a friend of mine did with my girls a few weeks ago.  She took them for the day so I could have some time to myself and she took them shopping - to Goodwill!  I loved the term - Retail Therapy.  It's what we women do when we need a pic-me-up.  At least a lot of us do!
And it works!  It's so fun to go shopping and BUY stuff.  I love getting stuff in the mail that I've ordered.

So today I decided to do a little shopping for you and give you some things to consider if you need some 'Retail Therepy'.  I just might make 'Retail Therapy' a regular post.  What do you think?

A Tad Bit of Valentine's Decor

I don't go all out for Valentine Decor.  Sometimes I don't do any at all.
For some absolutely adorable crafting fun go here.  Tutorial is great!
And just might get you into the Valentine card making mood!

Since my china cupboard needed a deep cleaning I had The Teenager help me with that on Saturday.  When we got everything back in and I had arranged it well enough to do for now I added just a couple touches of red and hearts.  The heart picks are vintage, I picked them up at an antique shop somewhere.

The detailed Annie Oakley card was from a friend years ago and I kept it.

This little valentine was purchased at McMaster and Storm when their Brick and Mortar was still open.  It makes an appearance almost every February.

(egg from my sister - via Andrea Singarella)
Technically an egg and labeled an Easter decor item, this made its appearance early.  It's pink so it fits right in with any Valentine's theme.  And it's cheery.  Cheer is desperately needed right now.  It is gray and gloomy outside.  (If you will notice I spelled it 'gray'.  If you are very astute and know me very well at all you will recall that I spell it 'grey'.  I like that spelling better.  But since I don't like what it looks like outside I am spelling it 'gray'.  Yes, I'm going crazy)
61 days till April.

Decked with Christmas Cheer

Cupboard in the dining room.  So fun to add Christmasy stuff to what was already there.

This year my cloche got stuffed full of vintage ornaments.  I wanted to go all silver but that cloche is BIG!  And I didn't have enough silver!

Tiny reindeer - thanks to good ole w@almart!!

I have a funny little 'thing' about old science lab stuff!

Old perfume bottle.  This was mine when I was but a wee lass!

And the reason for the season!  JESUS is why we celebrate!

{Pennywhistle Farm Antiques}

Great antiques vendor!  This was the cutest display.  I didn't have much time to browse, but as they were right beside us I did pop in for a few minutes:)  AND they shared their power strip so we had electric too.  Thanks, Mary Kate (and Bill!)

I love plants mixed in with any type of vintage, antiques, new, homemade, anything.  They just add that special, living touch.

Cozy enough to move right in!

I really, really liked the way they had so many lamps and lights and they were all on.  Especially since the weather was a bit grey and damp.

I got my pictures from my photographer today!  So now I bring you - 'Graced', one of the fabulous vendors at our 'Brick Farmhouse Event'.  All kinds of fun antiques and vintage finds.  Also they served some fantabulous coffee!!  Come back tomorrow for the next vendor up!

Their burlap topped tents were just too cute!
