Sanctuary Decor

So I know Christmas is over and it's high time to move on!  I for one am way past Christmas and thinking about Valentines.  And Easter.
But I never got the pics of our church sanctuary posted so here they are.  Bear with me for one last Christmas post:)

Poinsettias in the most beautiful shade of pink.  I like them so much better than the traditional red.

Not the best photo but the best my ailing camera could muster.

The wall of our sound booth.

There are double doors here and they both had a wreath.  I somehow managed to not take a picture of both of the doors when they were shut.  Maybe because they are rarely shut?!

And for on top of the piano up front I bought this nativity here.
It might have to go somewhere in my house next year though!

May Your Days Be Merry and Bright!

Even though the skies are more often grey than not this time of year, our hearts can be 'merry and bright'!  This time of year, nearly the whole world turns their attention towards Christmas.
And though many may not seemingly celebrate Christ's birth His Name IS still in CHRISTmas!

And we live in a country that still, at least for now, allows us to worship our King unhindered.
We can celebrate however we want to.  We can tell others about our King without being afraid of being thrown in jail. (most places anyway!)

We can come and go as we please.  Things we need and want are at our fingertips.
So this season, spread some cheer - have a merry and bright heart and let it show!!

{No Room In The Inn}

"He went there to register with Mary, who was expecting a child.  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave girth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."  -Luke 2:5-7

Is there room in your heart for Him today???
He wants to reside there!  LET HIM IN!!!!

Just because I like the whole area.  Please ignore the Christmas gifts sitting in the corner.  And the fingernail polish on the table.  I didn't stage the area very well:)

Decked with Christmas Cheer

Cupboard in the dining room.  So fun to add Christmasy stuff to what was already there.

This year my cloche got stuffed full of vintage ornaments.  I wanted to go all silver but that cloche is BIG!  And I didn't have enough silver!

Tiny reindeer - thanks to good ole w@almart!!

I have a funny little 'thing' about old science lab stuff!

Old perfume bottle.  This was mine when I was but a wee lass!

And the reason for the season!  JESUS is why we celebrate!

Boxwood starts ~ Christmas Decor!

I got some lovely boxwood starts from Kara.  She and I had the same idea for some of them!
You can see hers here
While most of them will got planted outside to grow bigger in the spring (well, Kara's are planted, mine are still in a box) a few of them came inside to join my plethora of Christmas decorations.

They are just adorable wrapped in burlap.  I may just have to buy boxwood starts every year at the end of November:)

Boxwood

Boxwood is my favorite greenery to decorate with for Christmas.  It stays green and fresh looking much longer in my corn-heated house.  It is also lovely when mixed with other fresh greenery - I did that last year.  But the other greenery started looking dry and dull much sooner than the boxwood.  My boxwood wreaths usually make it through spring though they are changing color by then.  One year I had a garland of boxwood that I hung over my china cupboard.  It stayed there till late summer and could have stayed but I was tired of it.  It slowly changes to a beautiful yellow/gold color depending on how much light it gets.  This year I have a HUGE 26 inch wreath on the shelf in my living room and a whole lot of loose boxwood tucked in her and there and everywhere!  I promise more pics are coming soon.  Today I'm off to help a friend dec out her house:)  Next week I get to help decorate our church building:)  I'm definitely getting my decorating 'fix' this year and I'm loving it!  Need help with yours?  Send me and email or text!
