Hydrangeas

Finally.  This year the hydrangeas in my house were MINE.  From my plants.  Granted this bunch is pretty much all the blooms I had but still.  I didn't have to go to anyone else and beg to cut their flowers.

I wasn't going to cut the blooms on mine this year since I just planted them.  But then  friend who knows his stuff when it comes to plants (he should he has a degree in agriculture!) said they would grow better structurally and take less water if we trimmed them.

So the blooms came inside.

I have 8 'Annabelle' variety hydrangeas.  6 are 'Incrediball' which gets bigger blooms than even the heirloom 'Annabelles'.  And 2 are the 'Invicibelle' which is the Annabelle variety that is pink, delicate and absolutely lovely.  Now I need some 'Limelights':)

Ahh, weddings...

Ahh, but I love weddings. The flowers, the music, the joy, love, laughter, the beautiful bride adorned for her husband, the men all dressed up, the coordinated wedding help. This wedding was special to me as it was the daughter of a my husband's cousin and they have become some of our best friends. So great to share in this happy day.

Little sister insisted on playing outside even though it was VERY hot and humid. I endured for awhile then talked her into going back inside.

Odds and Ends.

Some last shots of my flowers before the freezing nights kill them completely!
This beautiful petunia just could not be stopped! The sidewalk is almost completely obliterated. I'm sad because I think we are going to have to pull it all out this weekend to do some foundation work on the house.
But spring will come again and we will plant anew!

Some of my decor before I pull it all out and 'Deck the halls with boughs of holly' or boxwood most likely! Can not wait till Christmas, or rather the time to decorate for the season. I'm really chomping at the bit this year, not sure if I'll be able to hold off till after Thanksgiving. My 'Big Sister' is asking to get it all out now too! The girls just love all the nativities we have and like to help unpack it all and play with it while Mom decides where we are putting what this year. It is so fun to see them play with things that have a spiritual meaning. I bought a Fontanini Nativity set when Big Sister was just a toddler and I've never been sorry. It is beautiful craftsmanship but is not breakable so it doesn't matter if they play with it some. So precious to see little hands placing Baby Jesus in the manger. Oh I just can't wait!!!

My little candle carolers were found at a garage sale and they will find a place once again among the Christmas decor. They find their way into the scene throughout the year by most definitely at Christmas time!

Beautiful Summer Flowers

Our Fall Children's Garage Sale starts tomorrow morning! It is going to be a hot one, over 90 tomorrow. We have around 50 people bringing things this time. Hopefully we will sell lots! I will try to take my camera over and get some pics. I have a bunch of vintage linens and some other vintage things in besides clothes. We are hoping to get rid of some of the old doors out of our house. They are neat old doors but we don't have anything to do with them right now. I hope someone can use them because T says they are going in the trash if they don't sell!
