~Garage sale finds~

Garage sale finds ~ all from the same garage sale!!!
That red box at the top of the stack?  It is full of...
...buttons!!!  What seamstress could resist??
Here are just a few of the lovelies in the mix!
Olive Juice dress with tags still attached!  I plan to take this in a little on the side seams for Middle Sister to wear this fall.
Cute bag.  All three of the sisters wanted it.  It resides in the locker that holds all our bags and can be pulled out by whoever needs an overnight-to-grandma's-house bag!
Dot lamp shade.  Not sure where I'm gonna use it but I couldn't leave it there.
Fabric stack.  Again, what seamstress would have left it there??
Large old ledger book.  Couldn't leave it there either!
Fun frame, paper parasol, and old wooden square.  What seamstress...!!!
Cute little mirror.  If you look closely you can see my cool ceiling mirrored in it!
Old frame.  Glass was not broken when I picked it up and added it to my pile.  But that's what you get with garage sales and the tons of people who were there.  I was buying it for the frame anyway so Oh Well!!
Music stand, old chandi, outdoor stuff
That's what all I brought home when I went at 9 when they opened.
The sisters wanted to go so after lunch we went back and found a few more things!
Big Sister bought this bed for her American Girls dolls.  I see the day fast approaching when she will decide she is done with dolls but for now she still enjoys them.

Middle Sister spotted this.  Can you believe I hadn't even noticed it in the morning?!
She has wanted one for so long and this was cheaper than buying a new one so we brought it home with us.  I told her now I don't need to get her a birthday present!  She wasn't sure that was such a great idea.

Big Sister talked me into buying her this stuff too.

I picked up these for one of the girls to wear in the fall.  Little sister also found a pair of Hanna Andersson flip flops but I didn't get a picture of them.

Had debated about this in the AM and since it was still there and only $2 I brought it home with me.

And a bundle of flowers for $1.
Great garage sale, i love this one!  They are always swamped and they move a ton of stuff!

Horton's of Tipton's French Flea ~ Part 2

Outside at Horton's was just as delightful as inside!  These flowers were just lovely.  I would have loved to bring some home with me.  Alas, they would have wilted in the car as we did our other shopping.  The french bread and herb butter was wonderful:)
 B.Ellen, Gina, and Kara

Loved this scalloped and painted awning.
Old suitcases, cute lamps, a rolled up map, and chalkboards in old frames.  I'm still wishing I'd bought that map!
That couch was sweetly slip covered with vintage sheets.  So cute!
My purchases from outside vendors consisted of an old sap bucket, old postcard, and...
old buttons!  The seamstress in me just can't resist!
And from Horton's adorable shop I got this basket.  I'm liking it a lot.

Next up my biggest purchase from the French Flea!!  It needs a blog post ALL it's own:)

More Garage Sale finds

Not much gets me out of bed early enough on a Saturday morning to go somewhere at 8:00.  Or any morning for that matter!!!  But when there is a garage sale listed that has fabric and sewing notions and it's just across town - well you can bet I'll be there:)
I was a little after 8, maybe 15 minutes or so, but don't ya know a sweet friend of mine was there ahead of me and grabbed some fun stuff for me as others were snatching things right and left!!  I ended up with a large bag of goodies to take home:)

Love the packaging on this elastic - it's the old bendable metal.
Fun red buttons
Red white and blue:)
I just love the cards these buttons are on.  Gotta come up with a cute way to use these.
puffy satin letters
Large wooden buttons  fun fun!!
old tools used to put in grommets and snaps, jar of grommets and some iron-on dots.
Iron-ons.  My girls want some shirts with these on them.  Can you see how the eyes move when you move the object?  How vintage!
Bright, vintage fabric
More iron-ons.  Girls want these too:)
vintage lace seam binding. This is the best to fancy up a gift
lots of leaves, florist stems and tape.  girls took off with the ribbon and I haven't seen it since.
Some of the stuff that came out of the bag of leftover scraps from making clothes for plays/pageants.  The Sisters took off with all of that too.  I now see small pieces everywhere.  Must get the sweeper out soon.
Big Sister decorated the living room like this.  They were having a party.  She somehow forgot though, that when the party is over you have to clean up.  Guess what the sisters will be doing tomorrow afternoon??
Little Sister wanted her picture taken.  And since I think she is a cutie I obliged her.
And just a sneak peek of what else was going on around here today.  More to come when I can post pics from beginning to end:)
