Sheep without a Shepherd
Like a sheep without a shepherd I stumbled round and round.
I bumbled here, I dithered there, slipping, falling down.
I couldn't sleep, I didn't eat, I was lost and all alone,
Till I heard a gentle whisper calling me to come back home.
Like sheep without a shepherd, we all stumble through the dark,
We go our way and try to say we have it all worked out.
We scamper here, we hurry there, we worry, fume, and fuss,
Not realizing that we have a Friend who cares for us.
A friend, a Lord, a Shepherd, who would like to be our guide
Who waits and waits for us to see it was for us He died.
I turned to Him, He gave me rest, I sighed and nestled in,
It feels so good to rest in Him, let Him the battles win.

Good poem! And well said. The little lamb in the picture brings back memories! Mother
Yes it's amazing that little sheep survived huh? I love it:)
Truly a lovely lamb.
If it helps with the coveting, the twine just comes in the ball form. The wooden stand is my own addition. :)
Amen! I like poetry..
and I like the picture!
Thank you. it's been years since I wrote any poetry. I had the first line come to me this morning as I looked at the picture sitting there waiting for some text. I asked the Lord to give me a few more lines and this is what typed itself out under my fingertips.
Jill, I've wanted to say that I really appreciate how you are open about your struggle with SAD, while simultaneously letting your faith and it's grace-grip shine. {Hugs} AND if I totally misinterpreted this, well, like I said, I've wanted to say that for a while =) God's blessings on you today!
Love the poetry. He has given you a gift and I see that you are using it to \his glory. PTL.
